First meeting

The first meeting takes place on site. This consultation is vital to understand the needs and desires of the clients, to feel the sense of the place and to understand its potential .

After this meeting I will produce a written brief covering the exact instruction of the work to be carried out.

Survey and Site Analysys

A full topographical survey is usually handled by a professional surveyor. I also make a photographic survey and a detailed site analysis survey. All these analysis are the basis for all following design works.

Concept Plan

Using the information collected from the first meeting and from the site analysis I will produce an A3 book including a masterplan, 3d visuals sketches, materials and plants moodboards and everything needed to explain how the finished garden will look. The discussion with the clients allows to change and evolve the design. At this stage we discuss about timing and budgets

Detailed Project

Following discussions and further development of the design, I prepare a serie of drawings including a detailed project, planting designs and specifications, construction details, setting-out plans. This package allows the garden to be accurately costed and built correctly

Tendering

At this stage I prepare a set of construction drawings, bills of quantities and specifications to selected landscape contractors. I will analyse their itemised quotations and then I will advise the clients on selection of the right contractors for each part of the project.

Construction

During the process of building I inspect all work ensuring that the garden is built to the highest standards.

Maintenance

After the garden has been built I will prepare a plant maintenance handbook that will help the clients to keep the garden well maintained. Besides I usually visit the garden on a regular basis to give advice for is right management.
